The Creators Awhi Foundation is a nationwide not-for profit organisation working with philanthropic partners who are committed to authentically representing and championing our children’s right of access to professional, personalised home-based early childhood education, in spite of circumstance. We aspire to create long-term inter-generational change for vulnerable children and their communities.
The Foundation was established in 2009 and is designed to advance thinking and methodology in early childhood education and development. Together with like-minded partners, the Foundation seeks to foster new knowledge and promote the national cause of early childhood education and development.
We advocate to government and drive the research and development that enables our active work through the Creators Awhi programme. We believe that education is our greatest asset in breaking the cycle of poverty in Aotearoa.
Our investment in early education ensures that Creators Awhi operate at the leading edge of home–based learning techniques – so children can have the best possible start in life.
On a national level, we are committed to raising the profile and benefits of home–based early education for children (from birth, to five years of age), so that support and infrastructure can be accessible both now and in the future.
Through our joint efforts, we can continue to change the course of young lives, and effect generational change for vulnerable children, their families and communities, throughout Aotearoa.
